The Sports Hall Gripe and Sports Hall Poljud witnessed some intense matches, showcasing the extraordinary talent of university futsal teams from all over Europe.

In the women's division, the University of Zagreb (CRO) showcased its dominance as they defeated the University of Coimbra (POR) with an impressive scoreline of 4-0. Not to be outdone, the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France (FRA) secured a convincing victory against Tempere University (FIN) with a score of 4-1. Meanwhile, the match between the University of Lisbon (POR) and the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne (FRA) turned out to be a high-scoring thriller, with the Portuguese emerging victorious with a 5-3 win. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NOR) also displayed their prowess, decimating the University College Cork (IRL) with a staggering 7-0 scoreline.

„It was a tough match, of course, we expected it! I want to congratulate the Portuguese team on fair play and to my team for giving it all. This is a great result (4:0) and excellent 3 points. We hope to exceed the good result tomorrow, and with three more points continue to the top.“ The player from the University of Zagreb Marija Žagar.

In the men's division, Norwegians from the same University weren't as lucky as the University of Minho (POR) defeated them with a score of 4-1. The University of Jyvaskyla (FIN) showcased their determination, triumphing over the University of Bristol (GBR) with a 2-0 win. Another thrilling encounter saw the University of Toulouse II - Jean Jaures (FRA) emerge victorious against the University of Pecs (HUN) with a 6-3 scoreline.

The Swiss Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen (SUI) made their presence felt with a dominant 5-1 victory over the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences (EST), while the University of Mainz (GER) secured a narrow 5-4 win against Eindhoven University of Technology (NED). The local team, University of Split (CRO), brought joy to their home fans cheering them on at the Gripe Sports Hall by claiming a resounding 4-0 victory against Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (FIN).

„It was a tough game - at the end we won, but it was really more difficult than it seems since we have a lot of young and inexperienced players. Right now we have two games to focus on, I know our opponents are talented since I've played them in the national teams, too. But for now, it's time to rest, go to the beach and finally continue the winning streak.“ Swiss captain Aurelio Currenti

Some matches were tightly contested, as seen in the match between Ivano-Frankivsk College of Physical Education (UKR) and Bernays University of Applied Sciences (CRO) who were playing the whole first halftime goal by goal, but at the end, Ukrainians took their first win of the tournament. Similarly, the match between Caucasus International University (GEO) and the University of Gdansk (POL) ended in a 3-3 draw, showcasing the competitive spirit of the teams.

As the dust settled on the second day of the championship, spectators were shown the incredible skill and determination displayed on the futsal courts. With more days of action-packed matches to come, the European University Futsal Championship in Split promises to be an unforgettable event for futsal enthusiasts across the continent.
