The opening match set the tone for the tournament as the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NOR) faced off against the University of Bristol (GBR). The Norwegians put on a spectacular performance, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up. With incredible teamwork and precise ball control, they secured a resounding 8-1 victory, making a strong statement about their championship aspirations.

„It was a good game, as we started off pretty strong! We had many different goal scorers, in fact not two goals were scored by the same player, which means a lot of players are off to a good start to the tournament. It was a brilliant experience and we are excited to play Portugal in the next match!“  Sander Aabel Andreassen, Norwegian University of Science and Technology

At the same time, the University of Gdansk (POL) clashed with the Eindhoven University of Technology (NED) in a fiercely contested encounter. Both teams fought tooth and nail, demonstrating their tactical prowess and determination. In the end, the University of Gdansk emerged triumphant with a close 3-2 win, highlighting the fine margins that define futsal matches at this level.

The third game of the day was an intense battle between the University of Jyvaskyla (FIN) and the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport (AZE). The match proved to be a rollercoaster ride with moments of brilliance from both sides. The University of Mainz (GER) and the University of Zagreb (CRO) faced each other in a match that promised excitement. The University of Zagreb showcased their dominance from the start, exhibiting impressive attacking prowess. The final scoreline of 4-1 favoured the Croatian team.

„Well a very good match against a very good team, but I think we showed we were a slightly better team and the result proves it. Our best part was probably the beginning of the second half when we scored two goals which really turned the game in our favour.“ Jure Jakovljević, University of Zagreb

One of the most exhilarating games of the day was between the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen (SUI) and the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne (FRA).
